the 6 tea varieties
Six varieties or colors of tea but just one plant
Let us now have a look at what influences the taste and the appearance of tea.
All tea sorts come from one plant, the Camellia Sinensis. This plant has two variations, the Camellia Sinensis Sinensis in China with smaller leaves and the Camellia Sinensis Assamica in India with larger leaves. This plant has given many varietals and hybrids from which 400 different sorts of teas are produced. It is only one step to make a comparison with wine. Based on the quality of the soil, the weather, the structure of the plant, the time and art of plucking as well as the processing, you will get very different teas. The way the leaves are processed plays a crucial role and it will give the tea its specific color and taste.

Herbal infusion and Flowers
Even if we talk about "herbal tea", this belongs to a different category. "Herbal teas" are plants like camomille, thyme, verbena.
Like shown in this video, flowers like Jasmin, Osmanthus or roses are often used to flavour Camelia Sinensis teas, the most famous one being probably jasmine green tea.
